Moanaya was born from a simple frustration: why should women feel out of place in their own fitness journey?

In 2021, our founder Isabelle Moreau was training for a half-marathon. She was fit, focused, and determined — but every time she entered her local gym, she felt invisible and judged simultaneously. The equipment was intimidating. The culture was not built for her.
So she stopped going. Instead, she began building a home gym — but found that the equipment available was either cheap and ugly or designed with men in mind. There was no premium option that felt intentional, beautiful, and crafted specifically for how women train.
Moanaya was her answer to that gap. Two years of product development, 47 prototypes, and conversations with over 2,000 women later — the brand launched in March 2023.
